homemade pizza for two.

saturday night i used our breadmaker for the first time to make pizza dough. i don't know why i waited 7 months to use it but i'll definitely be using it more often now!
here's the recipe for all of you who have a breadmaker (and if you don't go get one!)

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (vegetable oil works too)
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon mixed Italian herbs
  • garlic powder (i used just a little shake)
  • 2 teaspoons parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons regular active dry yeast

  • Place all ingredients in bread machine in the order listed (This step is key!). Select dough cycle on machine and press start. When dough is finished remove with floured hands (the dough is very sticky!) and shape into size and thickness of desired pizza and place on greased cookie sheet or pizza tray. Top with your favorite sauces and ingredients (We topped ours with red pizza sauce and half turkey pepperoni for Dan and half turkey pepperoni and red/orange peppers for me!) Bake at 400 for about 15-20 minutes.

  • The crust is so good! So much better than just a plain crust. Next time maybe we'll try whole wheat flour. It was definitely Dan approved!
